To the Officers and members of Iowa York Rite College No. 37 located at Ames, Iowa. I hereby recommend the following Knight Templar for membership in the College, In so doing I recognize that the College will honor with membership only outstanding Masons, members of a Chapter, Council, and Commandery of Knights-Templar, who have shown high qualities of Leadership, who have contributed substantial service to the Craft. Masons of high Moral and intellectual qualities and who have at all times given of their time and talent to further Masonry in General and York Rite Masonry in particular.
I also recognize that no person is to be invited, nor is any person to know that his name is
under consideration until after the College has unanimously approved the proposed name and selected him to be honored with membership nor until the name has been found to be clear on the
Records of the York Rite Secretary General.
NOTE:Under no circumstances should the person be told or advised by the proposer or
any other member of the College that he has been proposed or considered until he has
been voted on.
RESOLUTION
RESOLVED: That the Council acting as a screening Committee shall consider all
proposals for membership and cause them to be proposed to the Assembly or filed
with the Secretary, but a majority vote of the Assembly can bring a proposal up
for ballot if the candidate qualifies under Section 108, Paragraph A.
1. Any member in good standing may recommend an eligible York rite Mason for
membership.
2. A unanimous vote of those members present at a Regular Assembly, or a Special
Assembly called for that purpose, shall be necessary for election for membership.
3. Upon the election of the one proposed, previous to his receiving the Order Knight
of York there shall be delivered to the Secretary an Acceptance of Invitation,
signed by the proposer and other sponsors and accompanied by the proper fee.
